PURIFYING METHOD AND PURIFYING APPARATUS FOR ARGON GAS

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for refining argon gas are provided to prevent the function reduction of a refining catalyst by increasing the purity of impurities containing argon gas. CONSTITUTION: In argon gas, the molar ratio of oxygen is set to be lower than 1/2 of the sum of the molar ratios of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The oxygen is reacted with the carbon monoxide and the hydrogen using a catalyst which primarily reacts the carbon monoxide and the oxygen before the hydrogen reacts with the oxygen in order to remain hydrogen while carbon dioxide and water are generated. The content of impurities in the argon gas is reduced using an absorbing agent. The argon gas is introduced into a reactor(3). An absorbing unit(6) is in connection with the reactor.
