The monitoring unit has two connectors switched parallel to a solar module to be monitored. A transmission unit transmits data and/or signals through a load wiring of the module. A microprocessor of nano watt-technology controls the monitoring unit. A measuring unit determines parameters of the module. The measuring unit comprises a device selected from a group consisting of a temperature sensor, voltmeter, Hall sensor and an ammeter. A microcontroller provides the data of the measuring unit and/or an identity via the transmission unit in a direct way or after evaluation in a processing unit. An independent claim is also included for a solar module arrangement comprising an evaluation unit.
