<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for treating or preventing thromboembolic disorders, cancers or rheumatoid arthritis. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to compounds represented by formula (I) as new inhibitors of the serine protease Factors VIIa, IXA, Xa, in particular Factor VIIa, found in the circulation to treat or prevent triggering events in coagulation of thromboses. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the inhibitors and methods for using the inhibitors.
