PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which provides high reflectivity in a white display mode and electronic equipment including the display device. SOLUTION: The display device 20 includes: a capsule body (shell) 401 defining a pixel space; dispersion liquid 10 (electrophoretic dispersion liquid) which is enclosed in the pixel space and contains charged white particles 50 and a dispersant 6; and a pair of electrodes 3 and 4 that generate electric fields applied to the white particles 50 when voltages are applied to them. The white particles 50 are aggregated to one electrode side when a voltage is applied between the pair of electrodes 3 and 4, and disperses again at the one electrode side when the applied voltage is removed.
