PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightening surge protective circuit of an air conditioner which carries out suppression of lightening surge voltage and insulation from leakage current, using less circuit components. SOLUTION: An arrestor is interposed between terminals of the same phase of each of inductors L1 and L2 connected in series to AC input lines (live line 1 and neutral line 2) and a power factor improving circuit inductor L3, or among terminals of the same phase of a synthesized inductor made up of the inductors L1, L2, and L3 that are considered to be a single inductor, or between a combined inductor, made up of the inductors L2 and L3 that are considered sd being separate inductors; and when a high surge voltage is induced at the inductors of the AC input lines, the surge voltage is discharged through the arrestor and thereby suppresses voltage.
