METHOD FOR RECONSTRUCTING A HISTOLOGICAL VOLUME AND MEASURING DEVICE

The invention provides a measuring system and to a method for reconstructing a histological volume from a stack of consecutive tomograms of a tissue sample. After the tissue sample has been provided, a reference image of the cross-sectional surface of the tissue sample is recorded and stored. A histological layer is removed from the cross-sectional surface of the tissue sample by means of a microtome and mounted on a substrate. A tomogram of the histological layer mounted on the substrate is then recorded. The recorded tomogram is geometrically aligned with the stored reference image and the aligned tomogram is associated with at least one further recorded tomogram of a histological layer in order to combine tomograms which have been associated with each other and aligned to form the histological volume.
