PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce degradation in image display characteristics and maintain high contrast in an image display medium even when repeatedly displaying at least three colors. SOLUTION: Display particles are provided, to be used for an image display medium 1, which includes a pair of substrates 11 and 21 disposed opposing to each other, at least one of which has light transmitting property, and a display particle group 5 sealed between the substrates and having a prescribed charging polarity, and which displays an image by applying an electric field between the substrates to move the display particle group. The display particles include first display particles HB and second display particles HR having different colors from each other and having the same charging polarity, and third display particles HW having a different color and different charging polarity from the first display particles and the second display particles. Inorganic fine particles having an average particle diameter of 6 nm to 50 nm are adhered to the surfaces of the first display particles. Organic fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1μm to 5μm are adhered on the surfaces of the second display particles. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
