摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of performing the optimum luminance correction of an image picked up by an in-vehicle camera. SOLUTION: A device mounted in a vehicle to process images that are continuously inputted from an imaging means for imaging vehicle surroundings derives first average luminance being the average luminance of pixels in an image in each of a plurality of areas obtained by dividing the input image, specifies an object area in which the first average luminance is not higher than a threshold among the plurality of areas, adjusts image luminance on the basis of pixels included in the object area, derives a threshold to be applied to process an image inputted after an image, the second average luminance of which is derived on the basis of the second average luminance of the pixels included in the object area, and therefore, can optimally perform the luminance correction of an image having various luminance distribution variations imaged by an imaging means mounted in the vehicle placed in various situations.
