摘要 |
Provided is a method of producing a fuel cell electrode catalyst that exhibits a high catalytic activity from transition metals (e.g., titanium) via a relatively low-temperature heat treatment (i.e., without performing a high-temperature heat treatment (firing) step). The method of producing a fuel cell electrode catalyst includes a step (1) for obtaining a catalyst precursor solution by mixing at least a transition metal-containing compound, a nitrogen-containing organic compound, and a solvent, a step (2) for removing the solvent from the catalyst precursor solution, and a step (3) for obtaining an electrode catalyst by subjecting the resultant solid residue from step (2) to a heat treatment having a temperature in the range of 500-1100°C, and is characterized in that some or all of the transition metal-containing compounds contain at least one transition metal element (M1) selected from among the group 4 and 5 elements of the periodic table as the transition metal. |
