摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member capable of improving light extraction efficiency of an electroluminescent (EL) element, and to provide an EL element having high light extraction efficiency by using the same. SOLUTION: The optical member has a prism-shape or pyramid-shape light extraction structure 6 formed on a surface of a transparent substrate 5 and is flattened by being filled up with transparent resin 7. In other words, the optical member is equipped with the transparent substrate 5 and the light extraction structure 6. The light extraction structure 6 is formed on one surface of the transparent substrate 5 in its thickness direction. The light extraction structure 6 includes protrusion parts 6A composed of many projections mounted on the surface cited above, and the transparent resin 7 with a refractive index different from that of the protrusion parts 6A and filled in recesses 6B formed between the neighboring projections on the surface.
