PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology such as a method for creating a stereoscopic image by which a stereoscopic image can be appropriately displayed regardless of a screen size or the like.

SOLUTION: There is provided a method for creating a stereoscopic image for display, comprising: receiving a first image and a second image of the same scene captured from the same location as the first image, the second image being displaced from the first image by a predetermined amount; transforming the second image such that at least some of the second images are displaced from the first image by a further amount; and outputting the first image and the transformed second image for stereoscopic display. A corresponding apparatus for creating a stereoscopic image is also provided.
