<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of increasing efficiency of control of a discharging lamp. <P>SOLUTION: In this image forming device, the discharging lamp 44 is a device for applying discharging light on a photosensitive drum 21 after transfer through a paper conveyance path F and has a paper absent state in which there is no paper between the photosensitive drum 21 and it and a paper present state in which there is paper between the photosensitive drum 21 and it, in a printer part 200.
