PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coated paper excellent in printing appearance without printing ink locally striking through to the back side after printing in spite of being so light that the basis weight is not less than 30 g/m<SP>2</SP>and less than 50 g/m<SP>2</SP>. SOLUTION: The coated paper having a basis weight of not less than 30 g/m<SP>2</SP>and less than 50 g/m<SP>2</SP>comprises a base paper, and a coated layer having principal ingredients of a pigment and an adhesive provided thereon. The base paper contains reclaimed particles obtained by dehydrating and heat-treating a substance to be treated of paper making sludge as a principal raw material. The heat-treating process comprises at least four processes of the drying process of drying the substance to be treated after dehydration, the first heat-treating process, the second heat-treating process of heat-treating at a temperature of surpassing the first heat-treating temperature, and the third heat-treating process of heat-treating at a temperature of surpassing a second heat-treating temperature. The pigment particles on the surface of the coated layer is constituted by not less than 3% and less than 40% of particles in the total, the particles having a particle size of not less than 1.5μm and less than 3.0μm measured by photographing with an electron microscope.
