METHOD FOR IMPROVING CORROSION RESISTANCE OF STAINLESS STEEL PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving corrosion resistance of a stainless steel product in which high corrosion resistance can be easily imparted to an exhaust gas path of a heat exchanger or the like. SOLUTION: The method for improving corrosion resistance of a stainless steel product (workpiece) after assembled by brazing and/or welding includes the following steps: (1) a passive film-removing step of removing a passive film in a part to be plated of the workpiece to form a surface of a stainless steel base material; (2) an electroless plating step of forming an Ni-P-based electroless plating layer on the part to be plated; and (3) a diffusion step of heat-treating the stainless steel product to allow mutual diffusion to occur between the electroless plating layer and the stainless steel base material.
