The present description relates to a method and apparatus for establishing uplink synchronization in a wireless communication system. The method for establishing uplink synchronization in a base station, according to one embodiment of the present description, comprises performing a process for connection to user equipment, setting component carrier aggregation information, generating uplink timing groups from the set component carrier aggregation, and transmitting, via a plurality of component carriers, information on the thus-generated uplink timing groups simultaneously to the user equipment.
