PURPOSE: A device for compensating for reactive power in an offshore wind power system and a method thereof are provided to match the voltage of output power with a grid code, thereby continuously generating power without separation of the offshore wind power system. CONSTITUTION: An offshore wind power system(10) generates power by wind. A plurality of buses(20) collects power which is generated by the offshore wind power system. A collector bus(30) collects power from the buses. A substation(40) transforms the power and transfers the power to the system. A reactive power compensator(100) compensates for reactive power by a driving signal received from a reactive power compensation controller(200).
