PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk for evaluating flying performance of a magnetic head which stably flies by reducing the probability of contact with the magnetic head, and keeps flying stability for a long time even when using an inexpensive transparent glass substrate, in evaluating a magnetic head that flies at a height of 10 nm or less, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the disk for evaluating the flying performance of a magnetic head, a multilayer film obtained by laminating sequentially a silicon nitride film 4, a nitride-containing carbon film 5, and a lubricant film 6 is formed on the transparent glass substrate 3.
