PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drying device for a sheet corresponding to high speed continuous printing. SOLUTION: The drying apparatus includes: a rotatable belt 1 having an outer surface (1a) coming into contact with a sheet (S) and an inner surface (1b); an air blowing mechanism (4) blowing hot air from the side of the outer surface to the sheet; and a heating unit including a heating element and a contact surface (5a) brought into contact with the inner surface. A plurality of rollers (3) are arranged in a direction in which the sheet is made to travel. The plurality of rollers are pressed against the outer surface of the belt and the travelling sheet is sandwiched between the plurality of rollers and the outer surface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
