<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems with a conventional apparatus, wherein the easiness of color bleeding occurrence varies depending on the driving state of an optical member used when generating image data and the image height of the image data, the remaining of a color bleeding area increases when a reference for determining the color bleeding area is severely set, color omission by erroneous correction is caused when the reference is set gently, and it becomes conspicuous especially in an area where color bleeding tends to occur. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus calculates a suppression coefficient on the basis of a gradient value obtained from the image data and performs image processing of suppressing the color bleeding of an object area on the basis of the suppression coefficient. The suppression coefficient is calculated so as to suppress the color bleeding when the gradient value exceeds a threshold. The estimated value of a color bleeding amount is obtained from the optical information of the optical member used when generating the image data, and the threshold is set to a smaller value as the estimated value is larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
