<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide contraceptive regimens by reducing breakthrough bleeding, inducing regular and predictable withdrawal bleeding, reducing frequency of onset of a menstrual cycle or withdrawal bleed, inducing amenorrhea, minimizing uterine bleeding, and the like in a female in need thereof, and to provide methods of treating ovarian cyst, uterine leiomyosarcoma (fibroma), polycystic ovarian disease, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to contraceptive regimens in which a female is administered with a combined dosage form of estrogen and progestin followed by a period of administration of estrogen.
