PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain folding and jamming of paper, in an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image on both surfaces of the paper. SOLUTION: A color printer 1 includes an image forming part for forming an image on the paper, an ejecting roller 54 reciprocally rotatably constituted and ejecting the paper carried out of the image forming part toward an external part of a body casing 2 in normal rotation, a carrying passage 51 for guiding the paper by the reversely rotating rejecting roller 54, a carrier roller 53 arranged in the carrying passage 51 and carrying the paper, and a reversal passage arranged adjacent to the carrying passage 51, extending in the different direction from the carrying passage 51 and guiding the paper guided from the carrying passage 51 toward the image forming part in reverse rotation of the ejecting roller 54. In the carrier roller 53, the length in the width direction of the paper becomes larger than the maximum paper width capable of forming the image. The color printer 1 is constituted so as to carry the paper in the carrying passage 51 by the carrier roller 53 while approaching the paper to the right side (one side in the width direction).
