PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for more efficiently controlling the drive of an engine with low fuel cost while securing the flow amount of pressure oil required for the operation of an hydraulic actuator without giving ill effects to the operation of the hydraulic actuator. SOLUTION: A first target engine speed is set depending on a command value commanded by a command unit, and a second target engine speed lower than the first target engine speed is set in accordance with the first target engine speed. A target engine speed corresponding to the capacity of a pump is also set using the second target engine speed as a lower limit value. A second setting tool sets a third target engine speed not lower than the second target engine speed and not higher than the first target engine speed, as an upper limit value for the target engine speed corresponding to the capacity of the pump, depending on the type of the hydraulic actuator to be operated by an operation lever or the combination of the plurality of hydraulic actuators to be operated by the operation lever.
