The device (100) has a light emission lamination (110) with an active layer (112) arranged between two conductive types of semiconductor layers (111, 113). Two electrode layers (120, 140), an insulating layer (130) and a conductive substrate (150) are laminated to the lamination. One of the electrode layers comprises an exposed region, which lies at a part of a boundary face between the electrode layer and one of the semiconductor layers in an exposed manner. The electrode layer is arranged in such a manner that the exposed region is located in a central portion of the lamination. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a semiconductor light emission device.
