The resectoscope (1) has a shaft (2) comprising an open end (3) i.e. treatment end, and an electrode i.e. measuring electrode, arranged in the shaft. The shaft exhibits diameter of maximum 7 mm, and a shaft insulation unit (4) isolates the shaft against an electrode loop. The shaft insulation is arranged at the shaft end. The shaft insulation unit comprises black ceramic, and an inner shaft is arranged in the shaft. The inner shaft comprises two apertures, which are connected with a flushing liquid inflow unit, and a groove for distribution of the flushing liquid.
