A stator of a rotating electrical machine is provided with a stator core and a plurality of phases of stator coils wound around the stator core. The stator core comprises n (n = 6) pieces of unit coils arranged in the circumference direction of the stator core, a first coil group, and a second coil group. A first unit coil of the first coil group that is nearest to a power supply terminal is arranged to be adjacent to a first unit coil of the second coil group that is nearest the power supply terminal. A second unit coil of the first coil group is adjacent to the first unit coil of the second coil group. A unit coil of the second coil group that is second nearest to the power supply terminal is adjacent to the first unit coil of the first coil group. A third unit coil of the first coil group is adjacent to the second unit coil of the second coil group. A third unit coil of the second coil group is adjacent to the second unit coil of the first coil group.
