SCHIZOCHYTRIUM SP. JBF-06, STRAIN FOR IMPROVEMENT OF DHA PRODUCTION AND THE METHOD OF PRODUCING DHA USING IT

PURPOSE: A strain and a method for producing DHA of high productivity are provided to enhance DHA productivity through mutation induction. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing DHA comprises a step of culturing Schizochytrium sp. JBF-06 strain in a culture medium containing fructose, galactose, and glucose as a carbon source, and malt extract or tryptone as a nitrogen source; and a step of isolating DHA from Schizochytrium sp. JBF-06(deposit number: KACC93083) or culture thereof. The culture is performed at pH 5-8 and 15-30°C.
