SUPPORT STRUCTURE OF LNG STORAGE TANK USING HEAT INSULATING MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A supporting structure of LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) storage tank using the insulating material is provided to relieve the concentration of the stress by supporting the entire exterior of horizontal extension LNG storage tank through the insulating material. CONSTITUTION: A supporting structure of LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) storage tank(10a) comprises a base portion(40), an insulating material(30), and a plurality of gas injecting grooves. The base portion is concavely formed in the hull in order that the LNG storage tank is installed in the base portion. The insulating material is installed in the inner circumference of the base portion. The insulating material prevents the flow of the LNG storage tank and supports the LNG storage tank because the insulating material is stretched according to the contraction of LNG storage tank. A plurality of gas injecting grooves is formed in the surface of the insulating material. The gas injecting groove offers a gas injecting space for sensing the LNG leakage.
