<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in transmission quality on a network system in which an intensity-modulated optical signal and a phase-modulated optical signal are mixed. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to an optical transmission device for relay-transmitting, through a transmission line, wavelength multiplexed signal light of an intensity-modulated optical signal and a phase-modulated optical signal, including: demultiplexers 51, 53, 54 for demultiplexing the inputted wavelength multiplexed signal into a first wavelength demultiplexed signal and a second wavelength demultiplexed signal; a detour sending section 54 for sending the demultiplexed first wavelength demultiplexed signal to a detour; and wavelength multiplex-relaying sections 51-53 for wavelength multiplexing and relaying the first and second wavelength demultiplexed signals. Further, the optical transmission device includes a function for selectively blocking transmission of either the intensity-modulated optical signal or the phase-modulated optical signal from the first and second wavelength demultiplexed signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
