PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding apparatus, along with an image forming apparatus, capable of reducing a power consumption during a separating and feeding operation, stabilizing a sheet position, and taking out a sheet without flaws after feeding operation. SOLUTION: The sheet feeding apparatus 10 includes: a floating air blowing device 12 and a separating air blowing device 13, which make an upper part of sheets float and separate by blowing air to a tip part thereof in the direction of feeding a sheet bundle; an air separator including a side air blowing device 14 for separating sheets one by one by blowing air to both side ends of a sheet bundle; an air vacuum device 15 for vacuuming air of suctioning a separated top sheet; and a vacuum belt 16 for feeding a suctioned and held sheet. The sheet feeding apparatus 10 also includes a paper feed control part 101 for control in order to perform a floating air blowing, a separating air blowing, a side air blowing, and an air vacuum at different timings.
