The present invention relates to a rechargeable lithium battery in pouch form for medium- and large-sized battery modules, and more specifically relates to a rechargeable lithium battery in pouch form for medium- and large-sized EV, p-HEV, HEV batteries and the like, which comprises: a jelly-roll-type electrode assembly; a resin-type first wrapping material which wraps the jelly-roll-type electrode assembly as a unit cell, and is formed with a two-layer structure further comprising an inner resin layer and an outer resin layer; and a metal-type second wrapping material whereby two or more of the unit cells that have been respectively wrapped by the first wrapping material are wrapped and so housed together in modular form, and which blocks against moisture and gaseous materials with a hermetically sealed structure.
