Provided is an air conditioner wherein it is possible to suppress the size increase and cost increase of the device, and to perform more appropriate overheating protection. An inverter-integrated electric compressor (10) is integrally provided with a compressor (5), an electric motor (6) for driving the compressor (5), and an inverter (7) having a temperature sensor (11) for detecting the temperature near a semiconductor switching element. A control unit (3) estimates the discharge temperature of the compressor (5) on the basis of the correlation between the pressure load characteristics, during the cooling cycle (2), of the detected temperature of the inverter (7), the number of rotations of the compressor (5), and the power of the compressor (5).
