The nut (1) has a screw thread housing (6) comprising a spindle passage (6') that is provided with a screw thread (5), where a spindle i.e. steering column, of a motor car is pivoted into the passage. A division plane of spindle nut halves (2, 2') runs along a longitudinal axis of the spindle passage, where the two spindle nut halves are swingably coupled in the division plane by a film hinge (4) or a mechanical connection unit i.e. screw or clip connection, to form the circumferentially closed spindle nut. Wings (7) are arranged at a periphery of the housing and turned away from each other.
