<p>PURPOSE: A method for producing a large amount of red blood cells in vitro is provided to produce enough nutrition and environment needed for proliferating and maintaining cells. CONSTITUTION: A medium for producing red blood cells contains energy source without feeder cells, serum, and plasma. The medium additionally contains poloxamer. The medium also contains umbilical cord blood plasma. The medium additionally contains stem cell factor, interleukin-1, interleukin-2, interleukin-3, interleukin-4, interleukin-5, interleukin-11, grnulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor, or erythropoietin.</p> |
