TRANSMITTER DETECTING POWER-DOWN OF RECEIVER AUTOMATICALLY AND SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A transmitter for automatically detecting the power down of a receiver and a system including the same are provided to enable a user to automatically grasp the power down of the receiver by monitoring the voltage of a specific node in the transmitter. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter of a TMDS(Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) system(100) includes a current source(130), a pair of switches(120), and a monitoring unit(150). The pair of switches are connected to the current source and switch the current of the current source. The monitoring unit monitors potential generated at a connection node which connects the current source to the pair of switches. The switches are connected to the receiver of the TMDS through a first line and a second line. The monitoring unit monitors the potential generated at the connection node based on the current switching of the pair of the switches and a power supply voltage applied to the receiver.
