<p>A method and system which is used to monitor work activities for bill compilation comprises monitoring, by a processor executable virtual assistant module and in real time, a collection of actions by a user; based on the monitoring step, determining a subject identifier associated with a monitored action; and generating at least part of a billing entry based on the subject identifier and monitored action. The actions include a phone call, email or instant message creation, opening and closing a file, document or other record or carrying out a billable search. Starting and stopping points for each activity are recorded and the duration is logged. The method may further comprise determining a contact address of a third party and caller identification, monitoring a voice stream and extracting text equivalent data, and providing a list of possible subject identifiers and receiving a user selection. The method and system provide a means of monitoring a range of multimedia activities.</p> |
