An image sensing apparatus is provided, which comprises an effective pixel area arranged with a plurality of pixels, each pixel having a photoelectric conversion section; a scanning circuit arranged in the effective pixel area and having a plurality of unit blocks; a common processing circuit adapted to selectively output signals from said plurality of pixels, arranged in the effective pixel area and having a plurality of unit blocks; and a light shielding sections for covering at least one of the unit blocks of the scanning circuits and the unit blocks of the common processing circuits.
