PURPOSE: A blower control device for a main transformer of a railway vehicle for an AC(Alternating Current) section and a method thereof is provided to remove the wind pressure and noise of the blower by stopping a blower control device, because the temperature of the insulating oil of the main transformer and the stopped state of vehicles are integrally determined. CONSTITUTION: A blower control device comprises a temperature detection portion(6), a stop sensing unit(14), a switching unit(12), and a controller(24). The temperature detection portion detects the temperature of the oil for cooling. The stop sensing unit senses the stopped state of the railway vehicle. The switching unit is installed in the power passage between the power input portion(10) and the blower motor(20). The switching unit controls the power input portion. The controller judges whether a temperature value transmitted from the temperature detecting unit is below a preset value or not. If the temperature value is less than the preset value, the controller receives a message the vehicles stop signal from the stop sensing unit. The controller turns off the switching unit and stops the blower motor in the stop of the vehicles.
