The method involves producing a sensor signal (SA) that is differentiated on time using a sensor-dependent frequency bandwidth with an upper critical frequency less than 40 mega hertz (MHZ) and a lower critical frequency greater than 100 kilo hertz. An evaluation signal (S'A) with an upper critical frequency that is greater than 1 MHz and less than 10 MHz is produced from the signal (SA). A standardized pulse signal (SD) is produced from the evaluation signal. A pulse duration (delta t1) of the signal (SD) is extended to a preset current value (delta t2).
