Use of an agent comprising at least a color-changing component and at least an amino acid combination of glycine and at least a further amino acid comprising hydroxyl group-containing amino acids and/or amino acids with at least two carboxylic acid groups, and/or their salts in a cosmetic carrier, to intensify the color change of keratin fibers, and to improve equalization in the dyeing of keratin fibers, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) the agent; and (2) a multi-component packaging unit (kit of parts) comprising at least a first container with a dye preparation comprising the oxidation dye precursor in a carrier and at least a second container with a developer preparation comprising at least an oxidizing agent in a carrier, where the mixture of dye preparations and developer preparations comprises the amino acid combination.
