PURPOSE: A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the display device from becoming damaged due to an external impact by increasing mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate(10) includes a display area(A10) and a pad area(A20). A plurality of display devices are arranged in the display area with a matrix shape. An integrated circuit chip(16) is mounted on the pad area. A second substrate(12) covers the display area and is fixed to the first substrate. The first substrate is bonded with the second substrate with sealant.
