A method and an apparatus for controlling publishing and application of packages are disclosed herein. The method includes: A Media Gateway (MG) receives a first audit command request delivered by a Media Gateway Controller (MGC), where the first audit command request carries a package descriptor indicating an audit of packages supported by the MG; the MG returns a first audit command response to the MGC, where the first audit command response carries identifiers of the packages supported by the MG; and the MG selects a package among packages corresponding to the identifiers published by the MG, and applies this package. Therefore, the embodiments of the present invention solve the contradiction of publishing and applying packages on the control interface between the MGC and the MG. |
