An electro-optical device includes: an electro-optical panel; a holding member which houses the electro-optical panel; a heat radiation member provided at the opposite side to an incidence face of the electro-optical panel; and a light-shielding plate provided so as to come into contact with the holding member and the electro-optical panel from the incidence face side of the electro-optical panel and formed so as to at least partially surround a display area of the electro-optical panel.
