The invention provides a focused pinhole high energy radiation imaging device (1), comprising an object space (7) for receiving an object to be imaged by means of high energy radiation, and having a first axis (8) of rotational symmetry, a detector (2), having at least one detector surface and being sensitive to said high energy radiation, and extending at least partially, preferably in a complete loop, around said object space (7), and a focused pinhole collimator (3) with a focus volume (6), and provided between the at least one detector and the object space, wherein the focus volume (6) is located eccentrically with respect to said first axis (8). In this device, the average distance between collimator pinholes (4) and the focus volume (6) is smaller than for known centered devices. This increases the sensitivity and resolution of the imaging. |
