RNA aptamers and the uses thereof

The present invention relates to RNA aptamers and uses thereof, more precisely RNA aptamers interfering the interaction of TCF with other proteins by binding specifically to &bgr;-catenin, RNA aptamers binding specifically to HMG domains of TCF-I proteins and uses of the same. The RNA aptamer of the present invention can be effectively used for the development of an anticancer agent since it binds specifically to TCF-I to interrupt the interaction of TCF with &bgr;-catenin involved in tumorigenesis and metastasis and the transcriptional activity of TCF-I in relation to oncogenes.
