The stand (10) has an inclined display surface (12) for receiving foodstuffs, and a lighting device (22) for illuminating the display surface. The lighting device comprises an LED e.g. surface mount LED, and an optical element e.g. mirror or objective lens, for modifying light beam generated by the LED. Diffusers (16) diffuse droplets of liquid e.g. water, towards the display surface. The LED or the optical element is fixed on each diffuser by detenting. Each diffuser comprises a bent tube made of food grade material such as stainless steel.
