The method involves identifying a holder of a card e.g. magnetic card or chip card, in response to introduction of the card in a computing terminal. A sponsoring option is proposed in response to the identification of the holder. References for identifying an account to be sponsored are inquired, and a holder of the account to be sponsored is inquired in response to choice of the option. The card is temporarily associated to the account to be sponsored in response to the identification of the card holder, such that the card is utilized for carrying out a transaction on the sponsored account.
