<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor that exhibits a high dielectric constant, a temperature characteristic of a stable specific dielectric constant, a small polarization charge, and a superior life under a high temperature load. <P>SOLUTION: Each of dielectric layers 5 is made of dielectric porcelain which has, as a main crystal phase, a crystal phase composed principally of barium titanate, the crystal phase having a crystal structure based on a cubic system with an average particle size of crystal particles constituting the crystal phase being 0.08 to 0.2 μm, and contains yttrium, manganese, magnesium, ytterbium and zirconium. In an X-ray diffraction chart of the dielectric layers 5, the diffraction strength of the plane index (222) of Yb<SB>2</SB>Ti<SB>2</SB>O<SB>7</SB>is ≤5% of that of the plane index (110) of barium titanate in a capacitor body 1. The capacitor body 1 has a Yb<SB>2</SB>Zr<SB>2</SB>O<SB>7</SB>phase (including Yb<SB>2</SB>(Ti, Zr)<SB>2</SB>O<SB>7</SB>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
