PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for decompressing and outputting compressed data in a memory after once performing variable-length compression of input image data and storing the compressed data in the memory, to provide an image processing method, to provide an image processing program, and to provide a recording medium. SOLUTION: In a multifunction device 1, in reading the compressed data subjected to variable-length compression and stored in the memory 12 from the memory 12 on the basis of a descriptor in response to a termination data signal notification from a decompressor 26 and transferring the compressed data to the decompressor 26, a buffer write control 43 writes the read compressed data in units of compressions in proper buffers 44a to 44c and issues a write completion notification, and a buffer read control 45 reads the compressed data from the buffers 44a to 44c and outputs the compressed data to the decompressor 26. The buffer write control 43 reads the next descriptor and the compressed data when the data size of the compressed data exceeds the designated size by the descriptor or when the decompressor 26 inputs the termination data signal notification.
