PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently search for an opposite party apparatus, in a communication terminal changing over a communication system from a first communication part to a second communication part. SOLUTION: In this communication terminal, a communication system is changed over from a first radio communication part to a second radio communication part, based on a communication system changeover request when the communication terminal and an opposite party apparatus come close to each other, execution of search of the opposite party apparatus is started in the background using the second radio communication part in the search of the opposite party apparatus, the search of the opposite party apparatus using the second radio communication part is suspended when having succeeded in the search of the opposite party apparatus using the first radio communication part, the communication system is changed over from the first radio communication part to the second radio communication part when having succeeded in the search of the opposite party apparatus using the first radio communication part, and thereafter pairing with the opposite party apparatus is controlled by using the second radio communication part, based on apparatus information and security information from the opposite party apparatus acquired by using the first radio communication part.
