PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial leather not only having conventional high strength and excellent dimensional stability, but also having flat feeling with less unevenness of fiber density, the artificial leather being obtained by adding an elastomeric polymer as a binder to a sheet base material including a nonwoven fabric made of ultrafine fibers, and a woven fabric. SOLUTION: The artificial leather in which a polymeric elastomer is added as the binder to the sheet base material including the nonwoven fabric made of the ultrafine fibers, and the woven fabric, is controlled so that a quotient obtained by dividing an overlapping height between cross sections of neighboring single fibers of the inserted woven fabric by the single fiber diameter of the woven fabric is≤0.25.
